The higher education institutions have made the decision of reorganising the Tampere3 project. The venture will be postponed so that the new higher education concern will start from 1 January 2019.

An executive group will be set up to lead the project. The group will be chaired by Kari Neilimo, Chair of the Board of the University of Tampere, with Mika Hannula, President of TUT; Vice-Rector Harri Melin from UTA, and Vice-President Mikko Naukkarinen from TAMK as members. The first task of the executive group is to prepare a roadmap for the Tampere3 project and to set up a new project organisation.

“All in all, the most significant aspect of the work of the executive group is continuity so that all the preparatory work that has already been undertaken will not go to waste. The directors of administration of the universities and the strategic steering group will also support the work towards Tampere3,” Rector Liisa Laakso says.

A strategic steering group will be appointed for the venture with all the chairs of the boards and all the rectors/presidents as members.
